Promoting your website product or services comes with a wealth of benefits, one of which is inexpensive 3rd party referral traffic to your website. Here are some ways to turn these platforms into traffic generators.

In our other article,1 5 FREE WAYS TO INCREASE WEB TRAFFIC, we discuss a key method to generate traffic, is the business blog. In social media, these same blogs can be repurposed by placing them on social media pages and/or running ads to markets who may be interested in the content.
Of the big 5, FACEBOOK, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube and Linkedin, the most cost effective media is FACEBOOK. With it’s simple posting and promotions system, the price is right and can run as low as $25 a week. The only consideration of facebook, is it’s demographic. Presently, at this writing, Facebook is more of the 40+ age group.
The other sites are effective to post, but can be extremely costly to run a marketing/promotion campign. But for posting, each is free. Providing you use some key tricks, the indirect method of getting the word out, can be a cost effective way of reaching customers.
ADD HASHTAGS TO YOUR POSTS
When sharing your content on hashtag-friendly sites, add relvant keywords using the # indicating a tage. Keep the hashtags specific to the topic of the post and the content will get discovered by people who are more likely to read, share the content on their own pages or related groups. ,
ADD TARGET AMPLIFIERS
The new buzz word on the marketing space is called amplifiers. In simplistic terms, they are alternative media publicastion sources like like trade journals, news sites, big-brand blogs, and organization news letters. They also could then be picked up by 3rd party influences as a part of their own content development.
Some areas of focus are:
- Industry publications like trade journals, news sites, big-brand blogs, organization news letters and social influencers.
- External sources of influence like journalists in mainstream media and social influencers outside of your field.
- Customer evangelists: the people with industry followings who use and recommend you.

Yes…check them out. See what they are doing well and what your may like. These are the folk that are your competition for customer dollars. It pays to know who you are up aganist and their prices. Find out what people are reading (or talking about), and create your own content that is simular.
GOOD TIMING
If you want to deep dive into the technology, take a look at your free google insights via anaylstics . Find out when people are looking and where they are dropping off. Place a teaser on the pages they are leaving and post at peak times with a new announcement of the blog.
GET A GMAIL ADDRESS
Now before your protest that you have domain based email solution…that is good. But you get perks with the gmail address. One of which is YouTube, but the lesser known feature of a business listing. All of which is free.
