Adding one step better, MemberPress has 3rd party plugins that can combine the features of Woocommerce subscriptions, with it’s integrated Woocommerce controls and extremely wide payment gateways.
Memberpress, as a stand alone, offers’s it’s own payment gateway via stripe or an addon via Authorize.net, but the interface is more limited as compared to Woocommerce.
MEMBERIUM
Memberium is more closely related to Woocommerce membership, in that it only controls page access by membership type. It’s power is integrated access to InflusionSoft. They openly are focused on small startup business who may be overwhelmed by all the features of the other 3 membership packages. More recently, the plugin has added an entry level payment system to stripe US based. It is simple and there is support there, that is open an honest with what memberium can and can not do.
WHICH IS EASIER?
All 4 plugins do not require any knowledge of coding. They all offer user-friendly dashboards that let you set up, create memberships in minutes. Depending on what you want to achieve will be the determintor.
PRO – CONS – COMMENTS
MemberPress is considered the #1 membership plugin, but has limited pay-point capacity, unless you work through Woocommerce Subscriptions via a 3rd party plugin.
Woocommerce Membership have woocommerce, the #1 e-commerce package in the behind them. But it does not have courses built in.
LearnDash is the educational system popular pick. All it does is the courses and for a school setting, that works perfectly since login access is generally limited to students of the institution.
Memberium
Something to consider, is Memberium has some technical assumptions that may either enhance or destroy your website presence. Their focus is on one to one active update such as active communication between members . As such, they do not recommend that any caching be allowed. Caching causes issues in display. As such CDN and other caching hosting, such as WPEngine, are out of the question, if you want a consistent user interface.
There support is excellent and 24/7, unlike other plugins. However that caching limitation, unless you have an extremely small membership, may want you to look elsewhere. If not for pricing, but for technical flexibility.
CLOSE UP
What you ultimately choose, depends on your web designer, your own personal skills and how big you want to grow.
